Style: Metheglin
Ingredients: Honey, Cardamom, Pear, Apples, Cinnamon, Grape
Abv %: 16
History: This one was inspired by a passage in Patrick Rothfuss' book, The Name of the Wind. When I read it, I knew I had to try it. As you might expect, there isn't really a domestic version of it you can just go out and pick up at your local liquor store, so I had to make my own. Mr. Rothfuss was kind enough to let us name it after the bar in his series where the beverage was served (in exchange for a bottle or two and some geek worship via email on R's part). We tried to do it justice!

Have you guys drank this yet?
ReplyDeleteHaven't brewed it yet ;) Odds are, once we brew it, we're gonna hold it for a year or so before consumption. One of those special occasions type things...
ReplyDeleteWell good luck, I hope it turns out great and that I hear about it somehow. I have two batches based on the metheglin from the book in the begging stages of fermentation right now and am planning on letting them sit for at least a year after they are done.
