The Eolian

History: This one was inspired by a passage in Patrick Rothfuss' book, The Name of the Wind.  When I read it, I knew I had to try it.  As you might expect, there isn't really a domestic version of it you can just go out and pick up at your local liquor store, so I had to make my own.  Mr. Rothfuss was kind enough to let us name it after the bar in his series where the beverage was served (in exchange for a bottle or two and some geek worship via email on R's part).  We tried to do it justice!

 "I took a drink from the tall tankard to give myself a moment to collect my wits, and something wonderful happened to my mouth: cool spring honey, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, pressed grape, burnt apple, sweet pear, and clear well water. That is all I have to say of metheglin. If you haven't tried it, then I am sorry I cannot describe it properly. If you have, you don't need me to remind you what it is like."
